Goodlatte Bill Will Not Affect Horse Racing

11/7/2001 ( Thoroughbred Racing Association Deputy Commissioner Greg Avioli has said that Bob Goodlatte’s new bill to ban Intent gambling will not impact interstate wagering on horse racing.

The Thoroughbred Times reported that Goodlatte’s bill would be supported by Avioli. The bill prohibits the use of certain forms of payment to wager at internet gambling sites. The measure would also update the wire act to make Internet gambling illegal.
